Software for auto repair shops

Cars, vans, motorcycles, trucks, motorhomes and trailers: the vehicle record read from the registration card, an intake receipt and warranty terms written for vehicles, and every repair tracked in one place.

An auto repair shop doesn't take in a device: it takes in a vehicle with a license plate, a VIN, a mileage reading and a registration card full of codes. And what a shop has to put in writing isn't what a phone repair store puts in writing: estimates, storage charges, road tests, the parts that were replaced. Sattotal has a dedicated automotive category that you switch on in a moment and that adapts the intake, the documents your customer signs and the catalog of faults to what really happens in a shop.

Copying the license plate, the 17-character VIN, the engine displacement and the power from the registration card by hand takes minutes and leaves typos that later turn up on the invoice. A generic intake receipt says nothing about road tests or what was left in the trunk, and if the customer comes back two months later with the same problem, nobody knows what the odometer read when the car left or how long the shop's warranty runs.

With Sattotal you snap a photo of the registration card —or upload the PDF— and AI fills in the license plate, VIN, make, model, first registration, fuel, engine displacement, power and seats; you just check it. The customer signs an intake receipt with the risks of the trade and your terms for vehicles, which are kept separate from the ones for devices, come pre-drafted with your state's auto repair law (or general vehicle wording in states without one) and are stored exactly as the customer signed them. At pick-up you record the odometer reading and it's written on the sign-off sheet next to the warranty; where the law sets a mileage limit (Spain and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Québec and Manitoba), the sheet also states the kilometer at which coverage ends.

Fill in from the registration card

A photo or PDF of the registration card, the inspection certificate or the vehicle document from any of the 60 countries Sattotal works in. AI only fills in the empty fields and you check them before moving on.

Complete vehicle record

License plate, VIN, mileage, fuel and powertrain (hybrids, LPG and CNG included), engine displacement, power, seats, engine number, first registration and next inspection.

Intake receipt and legal terms for vehicles

Vehicles sign their own terms, separate from devices —estimates, storage charges, replaced parts— plus the shop's risks: road tests, valuables left in the cabin or high voltage on hybrids. They come pre-drafted with the law of each of the 60 countries and, in the US, with the auto repair law of the 14 states that have one.

Warranty with the mileage on record

At pick-up you record the odometer reading and it's written on the signed sign-off sheet next to the warranty. Where the law sets a mileage limit (Spain, Ontario, Québec, Manitoba), the sheet also states the kilometer at which it ends.

Faults of the trade

37 causes in seven categories —engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical, body and climate control— plus the accessories and intake checks of an auto repair shop.

Six vehicle types

Car, van, motorcycle, truck, motorhome and trailer, each with its own icon on the board, a radio code instead of a password and up to 20 intake photos.

Everything you can do with your auto repair shop software

From the moment the car pulls in until it leaves with its warranty in writing: the vehicle record, the mileage, inspection reminders, terms written for vehicles and the faults of the trade, all in one program.

The vehicle record, filled in from the registration card

Snap a photo of the registration card or upload the PDF and Sattotal fills in the license plate, VIN, make, model, first registration date, fuel, engine displacement, power and seats. It only fills in empty fields and saves nothing until you’ve checked it.

The license plate is unique in your shop: if someone tries to add a vehicle that’s already there, the program warns them and opens its record with the full history instead of creating a duplicate.

  • Car, van, motorcycle, truck, motorhome and trailer
  • Powertrain: combustion, mild hybrid, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, electric or hydrogen
  • Engine number, seats and next inspection on the same record
  • Change of owner without losing the vehicle’s history
How the automotive category works

The history behind every license plate: repairs and mileage

Every time the vehicle comes in, its mileage is logged, and at pickup, the reading it leaves with. Over time the record holds the full picture: you know how much that car gets driven and when its next service will be due.

The vehicle record shows every repair it’s had, open and already picked up, even if the car has changed owners. And the mileage at pickup is what counts for the warranty, so when the customer comes back there’s no argument about how far it’s gone since the repair.

  • Every repair on the vehicle, right on its record
  • Mileage in and out for every visit
  • The history stays with the car, even after a change of owner

Inspection reminders that bring customers back to your shop

With the next inspection date on the record, Sattotal alerts you as it gets close. That’s your moment to call the customer and offer a pre-inspection check before they take the car in.

  • Alert on the Alerts page and in the notification bell
  • Inspection date shown on the vehicle record

An intake receipt written for your state’s repair law

In the 14 US states with their own auto repair law, Sattotal comes with the vehicle terms pre-drafted for your state; everywhere else, with general vehicle wording. They cover estimates, the parts that were replaced and storage charges, and they go on the intake receipt the customer signs.

They also spell out the risks of the trade: road tests, valuables left in the cabin or the high voltage in hybrids and EVs. And outside the US, each country and region comes with the wording of its own law.

  • Legal texts for vehicles in the 60 countries Sattotal works in
  • Regional laws: US states, Canadian provinces, Australian states…
  • What was signed is stored exactly as signed, even if you change your terms

Warranty in writing, with the mileage at pickup

The sign-off sheet states the warranty you’ve set up for your shop, next to the odometer reading the vehicle leaves with. Where the law sets a mileage limit —Spain, and the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Québec and Manitoba— it also states the kilometer at which coverage ends. If the car comes back, a green or red light tells you right away whether the repair is still covered.

How the warranty is worked out at pickup

Estimates with parts and labor, approved by phone

The estimate lists each part and the labor on separate lines. Pick parts from your catalog or type them in on the spot, and the customer approves or declines from the link you send by email or WhatsApp: the repair order updates its status on its own.

It’s recorded who approved it and when, so there’s no argument about what was authorized before anyone touched the car. Once it’s approved, the invoice is created from the repair order with the same lines, no retyping.

Let the customer know when their car is ready

When you mark the repair as repaired, Sattotal notifies the customer: by email if they have one, and if not, by WhatsApp from your shop’s number. Nobody has to call to say the car is ready for pickup.

The message is yours to write: change it for the whole shop or just for one repair, and preview it before it goes out.

How to connect your shop’s WhatsApp

Multiple technicians, each with their own permissions

Add your front desk, technicians and office staff. Every repair order has its assigned technician, so the board shows who’s working on each car.

Permissions are set per module: for each person you choose full access, read only or no access to repairs, customers, parts inventory or estimates. And every change is logged with who made it.

Team roles and permissions

Auto repair faults, already in the catalog

Thirty-seven fault causes in seven categories built for the shop: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical, body and climate control. You pick them during diagnosis, and later they show you what you fix most and how long it takes.

Plus everything any repair shop needs

Each category adapts the record, the faults and the documents to your trade; the rest of Sattotal is the same for every category.

Estimates your customer approves online

Send the estimate by email or WhatsApp and the customer approves or declines it from the link. The repair moves to its next status on its own, with a record of who approved it and when.

Signed intake and handover

The customer signs on screen when they drop off and when they pick up. The PDF keeps the exact terms they agreed to, with your logo and the legal wording for your country.

Photos at drop-off and pickup

Take photos on your phone when the item comes in and when it goes out, iPhone HEIC included. If a customer claims a dent was your fault, you have proof of how it arrived.

WhatsApp and email updates

The customer gets a message when the estimate is ready, when the repair is done and when it’s waiting for pickup, without anyone having to pick up the phone.

Parts, warehouses and suppliers

Stock per warehouse, parts reserved for each repair, returns to suppliers (RMA) and AI that reads your supplier invoices.

POS and invoicing

Take payment for the repair, sell accessories from the POS and issue invoices that meet your country’s rules, in the countries where it’s available.

Warranties under control

Every repair you hand back carries its warranty end date. If the item comes back, a green or red light tells you right away whether it’s still covered.

Team, roles and permissions

Front desk, technicians and admin, each with their own permissions. You know who changed what, and every technician sees their own jobs on the board.

AI assistant and daily report

Ask the assistant about your repairs in plain English and get a summary every morning of what came in, what went out and what’s stuck.

Frequently asked questions

What does it read from the registration card?

License plate, vehicle identification number (VIN), make, model, first registration date, fuel, engine displacement, power and seats. Where the registration document doesn't carry all the technical data —in Spain, for example— uploading the inspection card as well fills in the rest. It reads a photo or a PDF, even a scanned one, only fills in empty fields, and nothing is saved until you've checked it and moved on.

Does it work for auto repair shops in the US?

Yes. It reads the vehicle document from the 60 countries Sattotal works in —the state registration card in the US, the British V5C, the French carte grise, the German Fahrzeugschein, the Mexican tarjeta de circulación…—. The legal texts for vehicles come pre-drafted with the law that governs vehicle repair in each of those 60 countries: the repair-shop law where there is one and, if not, consumer law or the general rules for repair contracts. Where the law is regional, they also come by region: in the US, shops in the 14 states with their own auto repair law get wording for their state and shops everywhere else get general vehicle wording, and the same goes for Canadian provinces, Australian states, Scotland, Andalusia and Catalonia. You can still adapt them in the Vehicles tab, and each one is stored exactly as the customer signed it. Where the law couldn't be read from its official source, the app alerts you to review the texts.

What warranty appears on the sign-off sheet?

The one you've set up for your shop. At pick-up you record the odometer reading the car leaves with, and it's written on the signed sign-off sheet next to the warranty. Where the law sets a mileage limit —in Spain and in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, Québec and Manitoba— the sheet also states the date and the kilometer at which the warranty ends.

Do I need to change anything if I also repair other things?

No. Automotive is a category you switch on in Settings → Device categories, or when you create your account, and it lives alongside the others: if you also repair e-scooters or machinery, each item keeps its own details and its own terms. If you don't switch it on, nothing changes for you.

What happens if I change my terms later?

What's been signed doesn't change. Each repair keeps the exact texts the customer signed when they dropped off the vehicle, so a year from now their intake receipt still prints with what they agreed to that day, even if you've updated your terms since.
