Automotive is here: the vehicle record is read from the registration card and the mileage goes on the warranty
A new category for auto repair shops: six vehicle types, AI reading of the vehicle document from 60 countries, an intake receipt with legal terms for vehicles and a pick-up with the odometer reading on record.
Until now Sattotal covered five worlds: computers and phones, consumer electronics, home appliances, electric mobility and industrial machinery. Starting today there's a sixth, and it's a big one: automotive. It's a category built for auto repair shops —cars, motorcycles, vans or trucks— that changes the intake, the documents the customer signs and the catalog of faults so they work the way a real shop works.
What's new
Six vehicle types
Car, van, motorcycle, truck, motorhome and trailer, each with its own icon and color, and a record with license plate, VIN, mileage, fuel, powertrain, engine displacement, power, seats, engine number, first registration and next inspection.
Fill in from the registration card
A photo or the PDF of the vehicle document and AI fills in license plate, VIN, make, model, first registration, fuel, engine displacement, power and seats. It reads the document from the 60 countries Sattotal works in and only touches what was empty.
An auto repair shop's intake
Accessories such as the spare tire, warning triangles or the charging cable; checks for warning lights, lights and body; a radio code instead of a password and up to 20 photos.
Faults of the trade
37 causes in seven new categories: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, electrical, body and climate control.
Legal terms for vehicles
A vehicle signs its own warranty, liability waiver and terms, separate from devices. They come pre-drafted with the law of each of the 60 countries, with regional versions where the law is regional (US states, Canada, Australia, Scotland, Andalusia and Catalonia), and you can adapt them in the Vehicles tab. They're stored exactly as the customer signed them.
Mileage on the warranty
At pick-up you record the odometer reading and it's written on the sign-off sheet next to the warranty. Where the law sets a mileage limit (Spain, Ontario, Québec and Manitoba), the sheet also states the kilometer at which coverage ends.

The category is optional: if you don't switch it on, nothing changes. You check it when you create your account, under “What do you work with?”, or at any time in Settings → Device categories. Vehicle texts are edited in Settings → Documents, on the Vehicles tab.
