Device categories: what your workshop repairs
Choose which families of devices you work with and Sattotal adapts the dropdowns, the intake form and the deposit receipt to what you actually repair.
Sattotal supports 22 device types, from a laptop to a washing machine or an electric scooter. If your workshop only covers one of those worlds, the rest is noise: every intake means scrolling past devices you will never see. Device categories group 21 of those types into four families and let you say which ones you work with. From then on the dropdowns get shorter, the intake form asks what actually matters for each device, and the receipt your customer signs states the real risks for that family. Nothing is hidden and nothing is deleted: it is a preference you can change whenever you like.
Shorter dropdowns
Types from categories you do not tick stop being offered when you book a device in.
The form adapts
A washing machine is asked for its capacity and whether it drains; a laptop, for its BIOS password.
A receipt with real risks
The document your customer signs states the risks specific to their device, in their language.
Nothing is deleted
Devices already booked in are kept and remain editable even if you untick their category.
The four categories
Each of those 21 types belongs to exactly one category. "Other" belongs to none, and that is deliberate: it is always offered, whatever your settings, so there is never a device you cannot book in.
Computers & phones
Computer · Laptop · Tablet · Mobile phone · Printer · Monitor · Server
Consumer electronics
Console · Drone · Smartwatch · TV
Home appliances
Washing machine · Tumble dryer · Fridge · Dishwasher · Oven · Microwave · Air conditioner
Electric mobility
E-scooter · E-bike · Electric moped
How to set them up
Only an organisation administrator can change them, because they affect what the whole team sees.
Open Settings → Device categories
The card sits between "Labels" and "Failure causes".
Tick what you work with
All four start ticked. Untick the ones you do not repair; under each you can see the types it covers. You cannot leave all of them unticked.
Pick your main category
Optional. The one you use most will show first in the dropdowns.
Save the changes
The button only enables when there is something to save, and the change is immediate for the whole workshop.

The main category
It hides nothing: it only changes the order. The category you mark as main is drawn first in the dropdowns, so whatever you book in most often stays at the top. If you untick the category that was the main one, it stops being the main one by itself.
Where you notice it
Booking a device in
The type dropdown is grouped by category and shows only yours. If you work with a single category, no group heading is drawn at all.
Editing a device
Same as intake, with one extra guarantee: the type the device already has stays available even if its category is switched off.
Device list
The filter groups by category but hides no type: you have to be able to find devices you booked in before narrowing things down.
Failure causes
The catalogue holds over 190 causes. They are grouped by category, and when you assign types to a cause only yours are offered.

Data specific to each family
Once you pick the type, intake adds the data that actually matters for that device. Computing and phones get none: their intake is exactly as it always was. They are all optional, and whatever you enter is printed on the receipt too.

Checks when you receive the device
The "Initial condition" block stops asking about a washing machine’s battery or Wi-Fi and asks about its own things instead. They are all phrased positively — ticked means that part works — and they are printed on the receipt alongside the usual ones.

Does it power on?
Does it drain?
Does the drum turn?
Does it heat up?
No water leaks?
Risks stated on the receipt
The deposit receipt lists the risks you have informed the customer about, and those are now the ones for their family of devices: an appliance is told about water leaks when connections are removed and about plastic parts aged by use and heat; an electric vehicle, about the lithium battery and the manufacturer warranty. They are also printed in the language of the document, not in Spanish.
Serial number on white goods
For washing machines, tumble dryers, fridges, dishwashers, ovens, microwaves and air conditioners the serial number is no longer required: the plate usually sits behind the drum, under the worktop or inside the built-in recess, and on an older appliance it is unreadable. Keep one thing in mind: without a serial number there is no deduplication, so booking the same fridge in twice will leave you with two records.
When you create the workshop
When you create the organisation you are asked "What do you work with?", with all four categories already ticked. Unticking there leaves the app tuned from your very first intake. Skipping it costs you nothing: you start with all four, as always.
If you set nothing up
You have all four categories active and all 22 types available, exactly as before. And switching a category off never deletes devices, never hides repairs and never changes a document already issued.
