Sattotal arrives in Estonia, completing the Baltics
With Estonia joining Lithuania and Latvia, all three Baltic countries are now on Sattotal. Your shop can work in English while customers get every document in Estonian, as consumer law there requires.
Estonia is now on the country list for your organization. It is number 58, and it rounds out the Baltic trio: with Lithuania and Latvia already live, all three are covered. Estonia’s Consumer Protection Act (Tarbijakaitseseadus, § 4(3)) requires consumer information to be given in Estonian unless the consumer agrees to another language. Sattotal keeps the two apart: your team can use the app in English, and everything handed to the customer is generated in Estonian.
What turns on when you select Estonia
Customer documents in Estonian
The intake receipt, the repair quote, the delivery sign-off and the technical report print in Estonian, and so do emails and WhatsApp messages. Every team member keeps their own on-screen language.
24% käibemaks, in euros
Estonian VAT (käibemaks) has a standard rate of 24%, and Sattotal applies it to your quotes in euros the moment you choose the country.
Registrikood, KMKR and 15 counties
The company’s registrikood (8 digits) and its KMKR VAT number (EE plus 9 digits) are validated with their check digit. Individual customers are never asked for their isikukood, the personal ID code. Addresses are organized by the 15 counties (maakonnad).
The legal texts in Estonian rest on the Law of Obligations Act (Võlaõigusseadus, §§ 635–654). The shop is liable for defects in its work for two years, and a fault that shows up within the first six months is presumed to have been there already; the customer has to report it within two months of noticing it. The cost estimate is binding unless the parties agree otherwise. Complaints get an answer within 15 days, and if there is no agreement the customer can turn to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the TTJA.
Invoicing and point of sale are switched off in Estonia for now. Repairs, quotes, customers and customer documents all work from day one.
Each Baltic country handles unclaimed devices its own way, and Sattotal follows each rule: Lithuania allows a sale after written notice and two months, Latvia allows only retention, and in Estonia the shop holds a statutory pledge that lets it sell only after one month’s notice, as a rule at public auction, with any surplus going back to the customer (an agreement that the device simply becomes the shop’s is void). To get started, open Settings → Organization and choose Estonia: tax, currency, IDs, counties and document language are configured for you, and you can fine-tune the texts under Settings → Documents.
