Thorough booking-in: IMEI, pattern and passwords
When a mobile or tablet comes in, you log the IMEI and the customer draws their unlock pattern on the screen; for a computer, you note the device password and the BIOS password. The technician has everything they need to test it without ringing the customer.
The accessories left with it —charger, case, SIM or memory card— are ticked off a list designed for each type of device and go on the signed intake receipt, together with photos of the state it came in.
