Insurance claims arrive: the insurer, the assessor and their report, on every repair
Bodywork on a car, a washing machine covered by home insurance or an insured phone: log the claim on the repair, keep the assessor’s report and see at a glance which jobs are still waiting for the assessment.
When an insurer is involved, a repair comes with extra paperwork: a claim number, a policy, an excess, an assessor who has to come and look at the damage and a report that needs keeping somewhere safe. From today Sattotal keeps all of that on the repair itself. It works for any kind of job, from a dented car to a fridge covered by home insurance or a phone with gadget cover, and you only switch it on for the repairs that need it.
What’s new
Your insurers and their assessors
Add the insurers you work with under Settings → Insurers, with their phone, email and tax ID, and the assessors or assessing firms each one usually sends. You can also create an insurer on the fly from the repair.
The claim on any repair
The Insurance claim card on the repair has a Register claim button. Only the insurer is required: claim and policy numbers, cover, excess, assessor and assessed amount can be filled in as they arrive.
The assessor’s report, kept private
Upload it as a PDF, JPG or PNG. It contains your customer’s data, so it is stored privately and every time you open it Sattotal creates a link that expires after five minutes.
Where the assessment stands
Awaiting assessment, Assessed, Authorised or Declined. You change it from the card, and the assessor’s phone and email are one tap away.
Nothing left waiting
Open repairs whose claim is awaiting assessment appear in Alerts, on the Assessments tab, and the bell tells you how many there are. In the repairs list, a Claim filter shows only those with a claim, those waiting for the assessor or those from one insurer.
From booking-in to the PDF
Flag it at booking-in
On the last step of booking in, the “This is an insurance claim” tick box lets you note the insurer, claim number, policy and cover straight away. The assessor, their report and the status are added later on the repair.
On the receipt and the quote
The insurer and claim number appear on the drop-off receipt and on the PDF quote, so the customer and the assessor know which claim the repair belongs to.
Read the report with AI
With AI features switched on, the Read report button in the claim window reads the assessor’s report (PDF or photo) and fills in only what’s empty: claim number, policy, dates, assessed amount, excess and assessor. You check it before saving, and the report is only kept if you upload it with Upload report.

In countries with invoicing switched on, the invoice for a repair with a claim goes to the insurer by default, or to the customer if the insurer only pays them out. It’s a single invoice for the full amount, excess included, stating what each party pays; the excess the policyholder pays is covered by a receipt.
Also new for workshops in Spain: the default warranty, terms and privacy texts now print in Catalan, Valencian, Galician or Basque when the shop picks that language for its customer documents. Texts the shop has rewritten are left as they are.
Try it in the demo: a fridge damaged by a power surge is waiting for the home insurance assessor.
