Automotive is here: the vehicle record is read from the V5C and the mileage goes on the warranty
A new category for garages: six vehicle types, AI reading of the vehicle document from 60 countries, an intake receipt with legal terms for vehicles and a collection with the mileage on record.
Until now Sattotal covered five worlds: computers and phones, consumer electronics, home appliances, electric mobility and industrial machinery. From today there's a sixth, and it's a big one: automotive. It's a category built for garages —cars, motorbikes, vans or lorries— that changes the intake, the documents the customer signs and the catalogue of faults so they work the way a real garage works.
What's new
Six vehicle types
Car, van, motorcycle, lorry, motorhome and trailer, each with its own icon and colour, and a record with number plate, VIN, mileage, fuel, powertrain, engine capacity, power, seats, engine number, date of first registration and next MOT.
Fill in from the V5C
A photo or the PDF of the vehicle document and AI fills in number plate, VIN, make, model, date of first registration, fuel, engine capacity, power and seats. It reads the document from the 60 countries Sattotal works in and only touches what was empty.
A garage's intake
Accessories such as the spare wheel, warning triangles or the charging cable; checks for warning lights, lights and bodywork; a radio code instead of a password and up to 20 photos.
Faults of the trade
37 causes in seven new categories: engine, transmission, brakes, suspension and steering, electrics, bodywork and climate control.
Legal terms for vehicles
A vehicle signs its own warranty, disclaimer and terms, separate from devices. They come pre-drafted with the law of each of the 60 countries —in the UK, with a separate version for Scotland— and by region where the law is regional (US states, Canada, Australia, Andalusia and Catalonia), and you can adapt them in the Vehicles tab. They're stored exactly as the customer signed them.
Mileage on the warranty
On collection you record the mileage and it's written on the sign-off sheet alongside the warranty. Where the law sets a mileage limit (Spain, Ontario, Québec and Manitoba), the sheet also states the kilometre at which cover ends.

The category is optional: if you don't switch it on, nothing changes. You tick it when you create your account, under “What do you work with?”, or at any time in Settings → Device categories. Vehicle texts are edited in Settings → Documents, on the Vehicles tab.
