Industrial machinery is here: running hours and preventive maintenance contracts

A new category for industrial maintenance firms: nine machine types, the hour meter history, where each machine sits on the customer’s site, and contracts that remind you by date or by running hours, whichever comes first.

Until now Sattotal covered four worlds: computers and phones, consumer electronics, home appliances and electric mobility. From today there is a fifth: industrial machinery. It is designed for firms that maintain machines on the customer’s premises, where what counts is not the purchase date but the hours on the clock, and where the real business is maintenance contracts.

What’s new

1

Nine machine types

Compressor, generator, forklift truck, machine tool, welder, pump, electric motor, control panel and other machinery, each with its own icon, colour and rating plate data: power, voltage, maximum pressure, load capacity, fuel or year of manufacture.

2

An intake that fits

No password or BIOS questions. It asks what matters on a machine (oil or air leaks, unusual noises, emergency stop, whether it reaches pressure) and the deposit receipt sets out the risks that come with the job: production downtime, residual energy, wear parts and fluid leaks. Plus twenty-one new fault causes, from bearings to the CNC.

3

Running hours

Every machine keeps a history of its hour meter readings, each with its date and source: at workshop intake, on completing a visit or entered by hand. If a reading is lower than the previous one, Sattotal warns you but saves it anyway.

4

Location on site

“Building 2 · Line 3”: where each machine sits within the customer’s premises, so the technician finds it first time. It appears on the machine record, the visit and the work report.

And the part everyone has been waiting for: preventive maintenance contracts. In a contract you choose a customer’s machines and how often each one is serviced: every so many months, every so many running hours, or whichever comes first. Sattotal works out when each machine is due from today’s date and the latest meter reading, so the status is never out of date.

One service, start to finish

1
The machine turns “Due soon”
2
Reminder in the bell and in Alerts
3
You schedule the visit from the contract
4
The technician logs the hours and the work report is signed
5
The machine is back to “Up to date”

A contract record

CM-2026-000001 · Site preventive maintenance

Compressor · every 6 months or 2,000 h · Overdue

Forklift truck · every 12 months · Due soon

Generator · every 6 months or 250 h · Up to date

[ Schedule visit ]

The category is optional: nothing changes for anyone who doesn’t switch it on. You can tick it when you create your account, under “What do you work with?”, or at any time from Settings → Device categories. Maintenance contracts are included in the paid plans.

Try it in the demo: it comes with an industrial customer with a compressor, a forklift truck and a generator, their running hours and a contract with one machine overdue, one due soon and one up to date. The help centre has the full guide to maintenance contracts.
