A full drop-off: IMEI, pattern and passwords
When a mobile or tablet is left in, you take the IMEI and the customer draws their unlock pattern on the screen; for a computer, you take the device password and the BIOS password. The technician has everything they need to test it without ringing the customer.
Whatever they leave with it —charger, case, SIM or memory card— is ticked off a list made for each type of device and goes on the signed intake receipt, along with photos of the state it came in.
