Without a history kept against that particular appliance, every call-out starts from nothing.
Once the call-outs are all written up in a diary, it doesn't take long before you're not sure which part was ordered, whether the customer signed off on that quote at all, or what was fitted the last time it came in. And if it's back under warranty, you've no way of proving what was done, or when.
