Sattotal comes to Latvia
Following Lithuania, the second Baltic country and number 57 overall. Staff can work in English while each document the customer receives is generated in Latvian, as the law there expects.
As of today, Latvia can be chosen as your organisation’s country: the 57th on Sattotal and the second Baltic state, after Lithuania. Another eurozone member, but with its own firm rules on language. Under the State Language Law (Valsts valodas likums, Articles 2 and 21), consumer-protection information, including warranty documents, must be in Latvian. Thanks to the document language per country, the repair shop can use Sattotal in English and its customers still get paperwork, emails and messages in Latvian.
What choosing Latvia changes
Customer paperwork in Latvian
The deposit receipt, the repair quote, the collection sign-off, the technical report, emails and WhatsApp messages are all generated in Latvian. Staff screens keep the language each person has picked.
21% PVN, in euro
In Latvia VAT goes by PVN, at a standard rate of 21%. Pick the country and your quotes are calculated in euro at that rate.
Reģ. Nr., VAT number and 42 municipalities
The company registration number (Reģ. Nr., 11 digits) and the VAT number (LV plus 11 digits) are checked against their check digit. Private customers are not asked for their personal code (personas kods). Addresses use the 42 municipalities: 7 state cities and 35 novadi.
The legal texts, written in Latvian, follow the Consumer Rights Protection Law (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības likums). A customer has two years to claim for a service that does not conform, and must flag the fault within two months of spotting it; the shop first remedies it free of charge and answers in writing within 15 working days. Where no agreement is reached, the matter goes to the PTAC consumer disputes committee. Unlike Lithuania, an uncollected device cannot be sold: the Latvian Civil Law (Civillikums, Articles 1734 to 1740) only lets the shop keep hold of it until it is paid for, and the documents spell that out.
Invoicing and point of sale are switched off in Latvia for now. Repairs, quotes, customers and customer documents are all ready to go.
Head to Settings → Organisation and select Latvia: tax, currency, tax identifier, municipalities and document language are sorted automatically, and you can adjust the texts at any time under Settings → Documents. And in Lithuania, the deposit receipt now carries the actual rule for devices left uncollected (written notice, then sale after two months, Art. 6.679) rather than a generic storage-fee clause.
