Sattotal arrives in Estonia, completing the Baltics

Estonia completes the set: with Lithuania and Latvia, all three Baltic states are now on Sattotal. Staff can work in English while every document the customer receives comes out in Estonian, as the law there requires.

You can now pick Estonia as your organisation’s country. It is the 58th on Sattotal and the last piece of the Baltic trio, joining Lithuania and Latvia. Like them, it uses the euro, and like them it is strict about language: the Consumer Protection Act (Tarbijakaitseseadus, § 4(3)) says consumer information must be in Estonian unless the consumer agrees otherwise. So the repair shop can run Sattotal in English while everything its customers receive is generated in Estonian.

What selecting Estonia sets up

1

Customer paperwork in Estonian

The deposit receipt, the repair quote, the collection sign-off, the technical report, emails and WhatsApp messages are all produced in Estonian. Staff screens stay in whichever language each person uses.

2

24% käibemaks, in euro

In Estonia VAT is called käibemaks and the standard rate is 24%. Choose the country and Sattotal prices your quotes in euro at that rate.

3

Registrikood, KMKR and 15 counties

The company registrikood (8 digits) and the KMKR VAT number (EE plus 9 digits) are checked against their check digit. Private customers are not asked for their isikukood, the personal ID code. Addresses follow the 15 counties (maakonnad).

The legal texts, written in Estonian, follow the Law of Obligations Act (Võlaõigusseadus, §§ 635–654). The shop answers for defects in its work for two years; a fault that surfaces in the first six months is presumed to have been there from the start, and the customer must flag it within two months of noticing it. The cost estimate binds the shop unless something else has been agreed. Complaints receive a reply within 15 days, and unresolved disputes can go to the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) at the TTJA.

Invoicing and point of sale are not switched on in Estonia yet. Repairs, quotes, customers and customer documents are ready from the first day.

Uncollected devices follow a different rule in each of the three Baltic states, and Sattotal applies the correct one: in Lithuania they can be sold after written notice and two months, in Latvia they can only be held, and in Estonia the shop has a statutory pledge allowing a sale only after a month’s notice, normally at public auction, with any surplus handed back to the customer (an agreement that the device becomes the shop’s property is void). To get going, head to Settings → Organisation and select Estonia: tax, currency, identifiers, counties and document language are sorted for you, and the texts can be adjusted under Settings → Documents.
