Nigeria repairs rather than replaces, and the arithmetic is obvious: a new handset costs a serious share of a monthly income. That makes the repair trade enormous, competitive and full of customers who already know roughly what a screen should cost.
Two things changed recently and most shops have not caught up with either. From August 2026 the Corporate Affairs Commission enforces the requirement that every invoice carry your registered name and RC number, separately from your TIN. And because Nigerian law prescribes no estimate procedure, nothing but your own record decides a dispute about what was agreed.
Sattotal handles both without extra work. Your TIN and RC number print on every quote, invoice and receipt. The customer approves the quote by email and the approval is stored with its date, so an argument three weeks later is settled by the record. VAT at 7.5% and the naira are configured from the start.
Configured for Nigeria
VAT at 7.5%, amounts in naira (₦) and your tax identification number on quotes, invoices and receipts, with no manual setup.
RC number where CAMA requires it
Section 729(1)(c) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020 requires a company to show its registered name and registration number on invoices and receipts. It is a separate field from your TIN, because the CAC issues one and the tax authority the other.
Approvals you can prove
Nigeria sets no statutory estimate procedure, so your record is the evidence. Every quote approval is timestamped and attached to the job.
The FCCPA position on your paperwork
Section 130 on quality of service and return of the device in good condition, and the three-month return right under section 132(2), stated on your handover documents.
Parts, suppliers and warranties
Know what is on the shelf, what is on order and which repairs are still inside their warranty period.
Cloud-based, works on a phone
Nothing to install and no server in the shop, so a power cut does not take your job cards with it.

Frequently asked questions
Does it use Nigerian VAT, or UK VAT?
Nigerian. The interface is in British English, but the country is what drives the numbers: choose Nigeria and you get 7.5% VAT and naira (₦), not 20% and pounds. Nigeria has the lowest standard VAT rate of the major African markets — Kenya charges 16%, Ghana and South Africa 15%.
Why does it ask for my RC number as well as my TIN?
Because they are two different numbers from two different bodies, and an invoice needs both. The Corporate Affairs Commission issues the RC number when a company is registered; the tax authority issues the tax identification number. Section 729(1)(c) of CAMA 2020 requires the registered name and registration number on business letters, notices, advertisements, invoices and receipts, and the CAC announced full enforcement with sanctions from 1 August 2026. If you trade as a business name rather than a company, you will have a BN number instead — and if you are a sole trader with neither, leave the field blank and nothing prints.
Am I legally required to give a written estimate?
No. Nigeria prescribes no pre-authorisation procedure for repairs, which is different from some other markets. It is worth understanding why that makes a record more important rather than less: with no statutory process behind you, the only thing that settles a disagreement about scope or price is evidence of what the customer agreed to, and when.
What does the FCCPA give my customer?
Section 130 entitles them to timely, quality work, to goods free of defects being used in it, and to their device back in at least as good a condition as it arrived. Section 131 sets the quality standard for parts. Section 132(2) lets them return work that falls short within three months of delivery for repair, replacement or a refund. Complaints go to the FCCPC or the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal.
Can I hold a device until the customer pays?
Yes, within limits worth knowing. A repairer who has put labour and skill into an article acquires a lien over it and can hold it until that repair is paid for. But it is a particular lien, so it covers only the work on that device and not other money the customer owes you; it gives you no power of sale; and it disappears the moment you hand the device over. Sattotal keeps a record of every collection notice you send.
Does it cover phones and computers?
Both, plus tablets, laptops, consoles and anything else that comes across the counter, each with its IMEI or serial number, make and model.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. You can start for free, with per-technician pricing once your team grows.
