Sattotal now works in Nigeria
Country 50, and the most populous one we have reached: 230 million people. It arrives with the naira and 7.5% VAT, but the part a Nigerian shop needs right now is something else — its registration number on every invoice.
Nigeria can now be selected as your organisation country, bringing Sattotal to 50 countries. Choosing it switches the tax (VAT at 7.5%, the lowest rate in the region — Kenya charges 16%, Ghana and South Africa 15%), the currency (naira, ₦), the tax identifier label (TIN) and the legislation cited on the documents your customer signs.
Since 1 August 2026 the Corporate Affairs Commission has been enforcing section 729(1)(c) of CAMA 2020, with sanctions: every company must state its registered name and registration number — the RC number — on business letters, notices, advertisements, invoices and receipts. It is a different number from your TIN, issued by a different body. Sattotal prints both, without you having to remember.
What Nigerian law asks of a repair shop
Return the device as it arrived
Section 130 of the FCCPA entitles the customer to timely, quality work, to goods free of defects being used in it, and to their device back in at least as good a condition as they handed it over. Where the service falls short, they can require the defects to be remedied or a reasonable portion of the price refunded.
Three months to return it
Section 132(2) lets a customer return work that does not meet the quality standard within three months. The shop repairs, replaces or refunds. Your handover documents already say so, so the terms are agreed up front instead of argued about later.
Hold it, but never sell it
The common law lien lets you keep the device until that repair is paid for. Only that one: it does not cover other money the customer owes you, it gives you no power of sale, and it disappears the moment you hand the device over. Sattotal keeps a record of every collection notice you send.
And something Nigeria does not ask for, which matters just as much: unlike South Africa or Australia, the law here imposes no authorised-estimate procedure and no notice with wording fixed word for word. That cuts both ways. With no statutory process behind you, the only thing that settles a disagreement about what was agreed is your own record — which is why the quote approval is stored with its date and attached to the job card.
