Tallinn is Estonia’s capital and largest city, in Harju maakond, and plenty of the people repairing phones and laptops here use English at work. The customers handing devices over the counter, though, are entitled to consumer information in Estonian.
The Consumer Protection Act makes Estonian the default for anything addressed to the consumer. Retyping each receipt and estimate in Estonian takes time away from repairs, and a document the customer cannot read offers little protection if the price or the fault is later questioned.
Sattotal lets each side keep its language. Technicians work on English screens, while the deposit receipt, estimate, delivery sign-off and technical report come out in Estonian. Every device is logged with its IMEI and photos, and 24% käibemaks and the euro are configured from day one.
Estonian paperwork for your customers
The team keeps its English screens, while the deposit receipt, repair quote, delivery sign-off and technical report given to the customer are generated in Estonian, as § 4(3) of the Consumer Protection Act expects.
Status messages in Estonian
When a job moves on, the email or WhatsApp update the customer receives is already written in Estonian, without anyone on the team translating it first.
Device intake you can rely on
Note the IMEI or serial number, brand, model and visible damage when a device arrives, and attach photos so its condition on arrival is never in doubt.
Estimates the customer signs off
The customer approves the estimate before any work begins and the approval is kept with its date, which matters because a repair estimate in Estonia binds you unless agreed otherwise.

Frequently asked questions
Does a repair shop in Tallinn need to install anything?
No. Sattotal is browser-based, so a shop in Tallinn can take devices in, send estimates and return finished repairs from a counter computer, a tablet or a phone.
Why does the customer receive Estonian documents if we work in English?
Section 4(3) of the Consumer Protection Act (Tarbijakaitseseadus) says information for consumers must be in Estonian unless the consumer agrees otherwise. Sattotal leaves your staff in English and generates the receipt, estimate, delivery sign-off, technical report, emails and WhatsApp messages in Estonian.
Do private customers have to give their isikukood?
No. Sattotal does not ask private customers for their personal code; a name and contact details are enough. For business customers you can store the registrikood (8 digits) and the KMKR number, both validated with their check digit.
What are my options with a device left uncollected?
Section 654 of the Law of Obligations Act gives you a statutory pledge over the repaired item for unpaid work. Under §§ 292–295 of the Law of Property Act you may sell it only after one month’s notice, as a rule at public auction, handing any surplus back to the customer; agreeing in advance that the item becomes yours is void. Sattotal keeps every notice with its date.
How long am I liable for a repair?
For 2 years under the Law of Obligations Act, and a defect that shows up within the first 6 months is presumed to have been there at handover. The customer should notify you within 2 months of finding it. Complaints get an answer within 15 days (Tarbijakaitseseadus § 24), and disputes can go to the Consumer Disputes Committee at the TTJA.
How much does it cost to get started?
Nothing to begin with: open an account on the free plan, and per-technician pricing only applies once more staff join.
