Repair shop software in Curepipe

Intake photos and declared condition recorded before anyone opens the device, so a damp-damage dispute is settled by the record.

Curepipe sits high on the central plateau, where the damp is a fact of life rather than an excuse. A good share of the work that comes in here is corrosion and water ingress that the customer did not see coming.

Moisture damage is where disputes start. The customer believes the phone was fine when they handed it over, and without photographs and a recorded declared fault you are arguing from memory three weeks later.

The intake record fixes the condition of the device before anyone opens it: photographs, declared fault and the risks you flagged, all attached to the job and printed on the receipt the customer signs.

Phone intakes with IMEI

Every handset booked in with its IMEI, serial, make and model, so two identical devices never get swapped on the bench.

VAT No. and BRN on every invoice

Article 20 of the VAT Act requires a VAT invoice to carry the words "VAT INVOICE" and both your VAT Registration Number and your Business Registration Number. They come from two different bodies, so they have two fields, and both print.

District filled in from the postcode

Type 11324 and the district says Port Louis; type a code starting with R and it says Rodrigues. One less field to get wrong at the counter.

Written approval before you start

Mauritian law sets no estimate procedure for repairing movables, which is exactly why your own record matters. The customer approves by email and the approval is timestamped.

Built for Mauritius

VAT at 15%, amounts in rupees (Rs) and documents that cite the Code Civil Mauricien, not British or South African law.

Works from a phone

Cloud-based, nothing to install, backups included. A cyclone day at the shop does not take your job cards with it.

Frequently asked questions

Will it work for a repair shop in Curepipe?

Yes. Sattotal runs in the browser, so a shop in Curepipe can open job cards from the counter, a laptop or a phone with nothing installed.

Does it use Mauritian VAT, not UK VAT?

Yes. Pick Mauritius as your country and everything switches to 15% VAT and rupees (Rs) — not 20% and pounds. Worth knowing: compulsory VAT registration now starts at MUR 3 million of annual turnover, down from 6 million since 1 October 2025, so a good many workshops are inside the system.

Why does it ask for a BRN as well as a VAT number?

Because article 20 of the Value Added Tax Act 1998 requires both on a VAT invoice, and they are issued by different bodies: the VAT Registration Number by the Mauritius Revenue Authority and the Business Registration Number by the Corporate and Business Registration Department. If you trade without a BRN, leave it blank and nothing prints.

What does Mauritian law say about repair work?

The repair is a contract of hire of work under article 1710 of the Code Civil Mauricien. Article 1789 makes a repairer who supplies only labour answerable for its own fault, and article 1797 makes you answerable for the people you employ. Parts you sell carry the warranty against hidden defects of articles 1641 and following.

How long does the customer have to claim a hidden defect?

There is no fixed period. Article 1648 says the action must be brought "dans un bref délai", judged by the nature of the defect and local usage. Mauritius never adopted the fixed two-year period that France introduced in 2005, so anyone quoting you two years is quoting French law, not Mauritian.

What happens when a customer never collects?

Article 1948 of the Code Civil lets you retain the device until the repair is paid for. It is a defensive right only: it gives you no power to sell, so recovery means going to court. Sattotal keeps a record of every collection notice you send.

What does it cost to start?

Nothing. There is a free plan, and pricing per technician once your team grows.
