Repair shop software in Australia

Built for Australian law: the section 103 repair notice before you accept the device, 10% GST, your ABN, and uncollected goods handled by the Act of your own State.

Australia asks more of a repairer than most countries, and most of it happens before you have touched a screwdriver. If you use refurbished parts, or the device can hold the customer data, you owe them a written notice before you take the device at all.

That notice is not a formality. Failing to give it is an offence of strict liability, which means it does not matter how reasonable you were or how well the repair went. And a notice that only exists on a receipt printed after the job is not a notice given before you accepted the goods.

Sattotal shows the notice on screen the moment you start an intake, in the exact wording regulation 91 prescribes, and prints it again on the receipt the customer signs. Around it sits the ordinary work: IMEI, photos, quotes approved by email, parts and warranties, with 10% GST and your ABN already configured.

Section 103 notices, given on time

On screen at intake and on the signed receipt, word for word as prescribed. The data loss warning comes with it, because a phone or laptop holds user data by definition.

Configured for Australia

10% GST, amounts in Australian dollars, your ABN on every document, and your ACN where the Corporations Act requires it on invoices and receipts.

Consumer guarantees stated properly

The Australian Consumer Law guarantees cannot be excluded and have no fixed period. Your documents say your commercial guarantee sits on top of them, never instead of them.

Uncollected goods by State and Territory

There is no federal rule, and the differences are real: some jurisdictions let you sell after notice, Queensland needs a court order. Your paperwork cites the Act where you trade.

End-to-end repair flow

From the device arriving to the signed handover, with a clear status at every step and a tracking link so the customer stops ringing.

Cloud-based, works on a phone

Nothing to install and no server in the shop, with automatic backups.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the repair notice matter so much?

Because section 103 of the Australian Consumer Law makes it an offence of strict liability to accept goods for repair without giving it, where you use refurbished parts or the goods can retain user data. Strict liability means intent is irrelevant. It is the single easiest way for a competent repairer to break the law without noticing.

Does it use Australian GST, or UK VAT?

Australian. The interface is in British English but the country drives the numbers: pick Australia and you get 10% GST and Australian dollars, with your ABN on quotes, invoices and receipts.

Do I need to show my ACN as well as my ABN?

If you trade as a company, yes. Section 153 of the Corporations Act requires your name and ACN on public documents, and it names invoices, statements of account and receipts specifically. Sattotal has a field for it and prints it alongside the ABN.

How long is the statutory guarantee?

There is no fixed number. The Australian Consumer Law asks what is reasonable for the goods and the price paid, which is deliberately open-ended. Anyone quoting you a fixed period for Australia is describing a different country.

What can I do with a device nobody collects?

That depends entirely on your State or Territory. Notice periods, value thresholds and procedures all differ, and in Queensland you need a court order before selling. Your documents cite the Act that applies to you rather than a generic statement.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. You can start for free, with per-technician pricing once your team grows.
